Why is IMCO in the Sultanate?
 

Because Oman has the assets – 50-54,000 Secondary School graduates … annually; plus a rapid growing economy.

Does IMCO have accommodation facilities?
 

In Muscat IMCO facilitates the accommodation only; in Sohar IMCO plans a dormitory for about 240 students on campus.

Why are the programmes more expensive than some other colleges?

 

Mainly because of the practical training facilities being used in the education and training
programmes, often determined by international rules & regulations

What are the entrance requirements?
 

Minimum admission requirements for the foundation programme

IMCO has the following minimum admission requirements:
- Secondary School Grade 12 Certificate, average Grade C or above
- English Grade C or higher
- Mathematics Grade C or higher

Admission requirements diploma programmes
- The student/applicant can enroll directly one of the diploma programmes by:-
- Completing the foundation programme, or
- Passing the placement test

After the initial screening the applications will be sent to the department concerned, e.g.
Port, Shipping and Maritime or Process Operation and Industrial Maintenance, for further
evaluation and admission status.

Admission requirements for degree programmes

The student/applicant can enroll on one of the degree programmes by completing the relevant diploma programme.

Does IMCO accept international students?

Yes, IMCO does accept international students. At the moment students from Oman, UAE, Qatar and India do study at IMCO.

What are the admission procedure?

- Do the IMCO placement test between June and August 2008;
- Once you passed the placement test, register with IMCO;
- Register with HEAC – visit the Higher Education Admissions Center website for more information  www.heac.gov.om

IMCO has the following scholarships:
- Ministry of Higher Education: 150 Students
- Ministry of Finance: 100 Students
- Private companies (Unlimited)
